이상미는 ‘관계’를 핵심 키워드로 2009년부터 지속적인 조형 실험을 이어왔다. 초기엔 선을 통해 관계를 암시하는 단색 작품(Multiple Line-Being), 이후 일상의 사물과 감정을 컬러와 텍스트로 표현한 Nourishment 시리즈로 확장되었다. 사물의 외형 너머 감정의 ‘반짝임’을 탐색하며, 불안하고 불분명한 세계 속 관계의 본질을 낮고 깊게 연결하는 시각적 언어를 구축해 나간다.
